Rick Dale Anderson serves as a managing director with PTV Healthcare Capital in Austin, Texas. With more than 25 years' experience as an executive in the medical device industry, Rick Dale Anderson has developed a $400 million investment fund for small firms.
Anderson also makes regular donations to charitable causes, notably the Rise School of Austin, Texas. The only school of its kind in the city, Rise teaches both disabled and non-disabled students aged 18 months to 6 years. Its classes are a mix of 60 percent children with Down syndrome and other conditions and 40 percent traditional learners. This approach allows students with special needs to learn and socialize with peers who do not have disabilities. In turn, the latter group develops compassion in an atmosphere of individualized instruction.
Each of the school's five classrooms feature 10 to 12 children, led by a master's-level teacher, a bachelor's-level teacher, and an assistant, creating a ratio of one adult to every three children. The curriculum consists of group and personal activities, therapeutic interventions as needed, and gross motor play for physical development.
The school hosts a number of events, including the Rise School of Austin Invitational set to take place at the University of Texas Golf Club on March 30, 2015. Additional upcoming 2015 events include the school's Grandparent's Day and Heart and Sole Luncheons and its Travel the Vine for Rise Dinner and Wine Auction.
